Steel Water Tanks
STI/SPFA members build steel water tanks that meet or exceed the requirements of AWWA, NSF and all industry Standards for water storage. Tanks are designed to hold from 50,000 gallons to 7 million gallons and higher. Water tanks are built in many styles and decorative color schemes, including elevated, reservoir, standpipe and other designs. STI/SPFA Century Club
STI/SPFA honors the owners of steel water storage tanks, at least 100 years old and still in active service, with recognition as a member of the STI/SPFA Century Club. "Water tanks are some of the most identifiable structures across the United States, and we feel it is important to honor these tanks not only for their extraordinary service life, but also for the role they play in ensuring the safety of our water supplies," said Kevin Gallagher, past Chairman of the Field Erected Tank Section of STI/SPFA.
We invite you to enroll in this honorary program if your tank has at least 100 years of continuous service. Please provide the information below regarding the tank, and some verification of its age such as dated engineering documents, minutes from a village board meeting, a purchase order, a local newspaper clipping, etc. Please also include an original or digital photo of the tank to use for publicity purposes. We will send you a copy of the Press Release, and will include your tank on our Web Site under Award Winners. Thank you for your entry!
Total Cost of Ownership Program, A Life Cycle Analysis Spreadsheet
This spreadsheet provides real-world data on fabrication, inspection, maintenance, touch-up and repair costs for steel tanks versus other materials. Scenarios enable the buyer to compare “apples to apples”, and reflect the real costs for different materials over their entire life-cycles. Click the link at left to download the program.
Water Storage Tank Seminars
Click the link above to view upcoming courses, and register online in our Secure Site. Click here for a brochure, providing detailed course content. The seminar is given several times each year by 7 industry professionals, who present a day-long session that earns .8 CEU (8 contact or professional development hours). The course includes an examination of how to use and interpret water tank standards, a review of the substantial 2005 changes to AWWA Standards, seismic designs and selection considerations, impressed current and galvanic (sacrificial) anode cathodic protection systems, lower VOC coatings, and using an accurate Life Cycle Analysis to determine the best tank for your needs.
